which to choose (AMD vs intel)

im looking for a laptop, and narrowed it down to just these 2 lenovo : G400S and G405S

the 400S use i5-3230m with nvidia GT 720M,
while the 405S use A8-5550 with integrated radeon 8550g, plus another 8570m when needed.

both graphics' are around 2GB, both have 500GB storage, and 4GB RAM, but the AMD one is $50 cheaper.

i'll be using it for college, with matlab, and some engineering programs..
maybe a little casual gaming too, like fifa..

which one is better..?

If your main usage isn't gaming,go with the Intel model.It's got a faster CPU

but isnt the amd model have better gpu? well, according to some review i read..
also, isnt Radeon produce smoother graphic than nvidia in ?

Yes it's got a better GPU but since you won't be gaming(much) then consider getting the laptop with faster CPU
