Why did my u torrent get so slow

My internet speed is 370kbs on average. After watching youtube i was able to get my utorrent download speed to 1.1mbs

That all changed when i got my new computer. I installed utorrent and configured the same settings as my old pc but im only getting 0.3mbs

My dad also got a new modem which might be the cause

But either way i find this very hard to understand

Speed of downloading from torrent is dependent on seeders. Greater the ratio of seeders to leechers , higher the download speed (the only limiting factor in this scenario is usually your download speed you are subscribed to). If there are more leechers than seeders, the download speed will be slow regardless of whatever your internet plan is.

not true i downloaded a movie on my old pc and it was 1.1mbs
but on my new one i downloaded the exactly same movie and its only 0.3mbs

What movie is this you are downloading?

Seeds are people who are finished downloading and are uploading the files to peers. Peers are people that are downloading, but peers also upload. leeches are people who only download and don't upload.

So if the seeds are lower than before, your download will be slower.

And are you connected to the internet through wifi? If you are, it will slow the speed down allot.

And did your dad get that new modem because he's going with a new isp? Or did he change his speed?
