Why does my mic sound so bad when I record?

[My mic is a Speedlink pure desktop voice microphone, black]

On skype or teamspeak when i play games with my friends they say my mic is fine, but when I record my mic is soooo bad. I made a little recording to give u a better understanding of what it sounds like: http://imgur.com/lJApHPj

Are you cables undamaged ? Maybe check that . If not , check your headphone make and research the drivers for that specific brand , also check the levels for the mic it may be too high .

Pretty sure its not damaged. Even my laptop microphone sounds like this.

I've looked for drivers and I don't even think it HAS any drivers.. please help I want to fix this badly

Have you posted your question to the OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) forums?

Someone there may have some ideas as to what is going on....

Fixed it! It was a driver problem.

Doing Option 1 and installing it fixed it. It sounds MUCH better with no cutting off but there is alot of backround/static
