Why doesn't...

ActiveSync tell you which appointment is causing an error (date and time)
when an appointment with a unknown attendee is synched?

This is a common error when attempting to sync two PCs one of which is on an
exchange server. After all you wouldn't expect to have ALL the contacts from
a large server on your PPC or home PC would you?

An alternative would be to have an option to not synchronise attendees for
appointments.

This is Activesyncs most annoying fault IMHO..

Agreed that it would be nice for it to be a bit more clear.

So how do we make it happen?

Brett,

You have started in the right place. Your post here will be read by the
MVPs and other Microsoft types and will get pushed up the chain as desired
changes. Will they happen? Darn near impossible to answer.

Regards,

I'm not optimistic, this issue has been raised a number of times here :-(

The mvp's have their fingers crossed, but no info if we have been heard
on this and many other issues.

fwiw, there is a cumbersome method that I have uncovered that does
(mostly) id the files or records that are causing "resolution conflicts"
posted at http://BevHoward.com/ASync.htm#Resolve

again... it ain't pretty.

The key problem that the developers appear to have not realised is that
users might sync two computers only one of which (typically a work PC) runs
on an exchange server.
Outlook manages with a public and personal address book, the PPC obviously
cannot. ActiveSync fails to recognise this fundamental difference between
the platforms.
