Solved! Why has my nikon d60 suddenly slowed down

I have Nikon D60 that as been working fine for several months. It has a 4GB memory card. It recently started taking several seconds to write every picture to the card. I've reformatted the card, and also tried writing at various recording levels... with no change. Where can I look to solve the problem?

There is plenty of possible scenarios;

Maybe you are shooting RAW in bursts?
Do you have D-Lighting turned-on?

Have you tried to swith memroy cards?

... .found the problem... there was an option turned on the camera for light balance or some such, that caused processing of the photo before it was stored.. Turned off the options and things are fine.
