I finally fixed my laptop and was able to re-install windows on a new hdd yesterday. After booting it up for the first time everything worked fine. I plugged it up to my TV and it worked like normal as well, but when I unplugged the cable the laptop screen stayed black. When I restart it the ASUS boot up screen appears as well as the windows logo, but after that it stays black and i can only see anything when I have an external monitor plugged in. I even tried to access the screen resolution to see if the problem was there but it doesn't even show my laptop monitor as a choice, just my TV. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,

Press the Windows key + P at the same time then select "Display Only" since the laptop might not be switching automatically to the default screen when you unplugged the TV and it's still thinking that something is still connected into it.

It says "Your computer can't project to another screen. Try reinstalling the driver or using a different video card".
