Why won't time and date stay current on my dell latitude d620

I have to reset time on my laptop daily, I am just learning about my laptop and therefore not sure what troubleshooting I am required to to eliminate this problem, please help. I can even get on to Firefox until I make date/time current, its really a pain.

sounds to me like your cmos battery is dead ... should be cheap and easy to replace.

Here's a link to a tutorial on how to do it that seems ok - note that it is for d630 but your d620 has the same layout. I would argue that step 6 is unnecessary - I see no reason to disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable.

Hi Robert, like to take this time to say thank you. I am gonna guess that you are 100% right as I have to leave my laptop constantly connect to power source. And thank you for the tutorial.it will help.
