Regardless of how "Setup" this looks, I could careless. I have stated this before and will again, - this guy's whole agenda from the begining has always been to hurt the US in any fashion he can and Wikileaks was just his smoke screen. If you disagree, how do you explain 90% leaked information in the past 3+ years have been about the US? Wikileaks have stepped over over a fine line. However this is a double edge sword, with the way Wikileaks is, it may play right intot he hands of the US politicians who have been trying to pass laws to over take net neutrality.

Wikileaks was a good idea but was in the wrong hands of Assange. Alot of these information Wikileaks have, should have never made to public. Regardless of how insignificant some of these information and documents are, don't be surprised if terrorists uses these to affect you indirectly. He deserves what he should have gotten years ago when the US and Aussie Gov't were after him. I hope he gets extradited to the US and held in the state of Texas.

as someone put it...."don't drop the soap"....Assange.

I'd agree Assange's goal is to do harm to the U.S.

But the U.S. is making it extraordinarily easy for him to do so. Not only does the U.S. need to secure sensitive information; but also change their attitude in the global arena.

Everyone knows there are leaders that despise the U.S. or are difficult to negotiate with ( I say that with a lot of moderation...). It does not give right for U.S. politicians to reflect the same opinions back and get away with it all the time.
At least some country's politicians are honest about their views whether the rest of the world likes it or not.

So much for the golden rule; it would be nice to see it put in practice instead of pointing fingers at each other like the fools they are.

Assange is actually creating a situation that will allow Governments to justify a position of greater paranoia and a bigger focus on secrecy. The governments will say that they need to protect e-commerce, uphold the law and act in the interest of national security. Assange has created a situation where that will actually be hard to argue against. DDOS attacks can be defeated and will be defeated. It would not take much for an ISP to identify any zombies on its networks and just drop the connections. I think that this could change the culture of the Internet forever and not in the way Wikileaks hoped for.

A broken condom equals sexual molestation?
Sweden sure sounds like a misandrist country, one to be avoided by non-womyn.

I don't particularly care one way or the other about this instance, this Assange guy's just a spokesman for the site that apparently can't even afford his own travel.

OOHH look at me, I am a big boy PLAYER in the world scene, dropping secrets and hurting govermen... huh what I did not rape anyo... huh what that is no the whole trut.. oh shi... no bail and no money and no righ....!

What a wally!!

Those bitches. Always going for money and some celebrity with those "rape" bs charges. They never care if they ruin mans reputation and life.

Good job the Government is still working in the interest of the people who voted them in. Oh wait....

The case of Wikileaks is the main proof that US politicians are only using the term democracy for political needs.
They in the fact are all democracy frauds who have been lying to the citizens all the time about pricipal of democracy.
Accusing Chine for holding back democracy while jailing someone for exposing the true truth...
I don't see any democracy in this!!!!

there's a pretty big difference between someone being jailed for promoting human rights vs someone posting secret information that could be used to kill others.

[citation][nom]cp8427[/nom]Talk about propaganda... I mean rape charges... c'mon America... Is that the best OUR government can do? Hardly convincing IMO.[/citation]
c'mon America?Where do you think this is taking place again?Get out from under the rock!

Exactly. Thus as I said this will be a double edge sword - on one hand the US Gov't and other World Gov't will more than likely take out Wikileaks by what ever means and in return the US Politicians will look at this as a way to garner full control of the internet in the US.

Assange deserves what he gets. He and Wikileaks stepped over the line when they released the previous wave of information. I don't want the information that he released to indirectly affect me. Lets not even bring in the subject of US and other world troops in other countries into this but lets put an example of France. Lets just say Terrorists now know a major port in France is. If they take that port city out, it will cripple France's imports and exports by 40%. You thinking, you live in Britain that this terrorist act will not affect you but all the sudden, Wine and cheese and main exports rise through the roof in Britain. Now you have to spend extra money weekly/monthly on food. On top of that lets throw this in as well, your brother/sister/someone close to you travels to that port City on vacation or business and gets killed in the terrorist act. How do you like that? This example can be put on any Country and any major city in the world that is critical. So for all those nay sayers that say the information Assange/WikiLeaks is putting out at this moment is not detrimental to any extent needs to stop living in that Unicorn Magical Apple like world and get to reality.

Exactly.

Assange is a champion of freedom and a hero for truth. The charges were dug up and resuscitated just to have enough of a legal reason to detain him. Now lets see what they cook up to put him away, or better yet lets see if he "commits suicide" or "accidentally" falls out of a window.

This Anna Ardin woman seems like a real monster, she made a blog post about lying to courts to get back at ex lovers, and has other radical feminist activities in her background. Government conspiracy, I'm not so sure of, but its clear that these two women had consentual sex with him, found each other, and decided to take advantage of the situation.
