Will a virgin mobile phone activate on a verizon account

I have a Verizon account that is ready for NE2, the phone I want to upgrade to is out of stock at the moment. I am wanting to sell my current phone, but I also have a Virgin Mobile phone I could use in its place until the phone comes in. I was wondering if I could activate a Virgin Mobile phone in its place. Would Virgin Mobile work on Verizon?

In theory, yes, as both Verizon and Virgin Mobile USA use CDMA technology. But you'd have to bring the phone into a Verizon store to see if they'll allow it on their network and to activate it.
