Will an 3.5 extension cable degrade sound on my hd 598

I just purchased the hd 598 and have a extension cord plugged into the back the runs a couple feet to the front of my computer for easy access. Will this cause any sound degradation? I've searched some threads and there is no definite answer. Some say as long as it's not too cheap. I can't tell the brand on mine so that's also an issue.

The quality of the extension cable will determine signal degradation. Cheap cables will reduce sound quality. Higher quality cables still have a very minute reduction in quality, but nothing noticeable on an HD 598. You can good a good quality cable for fairly little money and chances are that's what you have.
