Will plugging a speaker into my monitors headphone jack work?

I am looking to buy the Z213 speakers but I am wondering about the audio. I wanted to plug the speakers into my monitor so if I’m using google chrome cast or my pc it all plays through the desktop speakers.

As long as everything is setup to send sound to the monitor, then plugging a speaker in the monitor will work just fine.
