Will the Lenovo Y700 be fine?

My mom insists that I shouldn't get a desktop simply because she doesn't know anyone who could build a custom PC for me, or simply because the prebuilt PC's that are branded are way more expensive than self-built.

I looked at the Y700 the other day, is this a reliable laptop that I can buy? It's the perfect price for me, and if anyone has had this laptop, can this run some newer games on High-Very High? (BF4, GTA5).

I heard there is an anti-glare filter cover on the screen, am I able to take this off?

Gaming wise, the gtx 960m is somewhat slower than a desktop gtx 950. But the 960m should be enough to play games on high settings.
