Will there be a difference in picture quality if the DVD player do not have a HDMI output and component video is used as well as component TV input. The TV has a HDMI input.

HDMI is a digital and the component output is not. HDMI will almost always give you a better picture because since your TV is digital you avoid converting to analog and back to digital.
