Hello,

I am going to buy a new laptop and wanted to make sure if a laptop with the following specifications would be good enough to run "The Sims 4":

Intel Core i5 4210U, 1,7GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB Harddrive, NVIDIA GeForce 840M, Win 8.1

Thanks for your help in advance :)

I am betting that the integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics core will allow people to play the Sims 4 with medium settings. The GT 840m should allow you to run the game with high settings at 1920x1080 resolution.

I am pretty sure EA / Maxis is not going to alienate fans of the Sims series by requiring a powerful graphics chip (unless they totally screwed up). They aim to make the game playable by anyone modest hardware so that they can sell as many copies as possible.

This. It's not a particularly demanding game, the recommended sysreqs are Win7, Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 9 GB free hdd space, geforce 6600 (which is from 2004). This laptop seems like it'll blast this game at ultra max res.
