Windows 10 media creation tool

Every time I try to download this to my 8 gig usb I get a message saying not enough space. USB is empty and laptop shows it as 7.9 gig. So tried saving file to desktop and dragging/dropping to memory stick. File properties say it's 3. something gig so it should fit but I still get message saying not enough room! So tried downloading it to my 32 gig phone and I just get message saying download failed. Any help is welcome.

Are you downloading the ISO, and trying to copy it over to your flash disk, or actually creating that flash disk with the Media Creation Tool?
If you just want to copy the file - re-format the USB drive with NTFS, it will fit your ISO. The tool will reformat the drive on its own.
