Windows 7 Aero?

I have an HP 2000 Notebook PC with Windows 7 Ultimate. I used to have regular Windows 7, but then a friend upgraded it for me. The problem is, I can't seem to play games like Solitaire, nor can I use screen savers. Any mp4 videos that I play, the video is much slower than the sound. It's telling me that I need a newer video card driver to work with Aero, but I can't find a better driver for my computer. Any tips on where I could find one, or any other ways to solve my problem?

If aero slowing down things then just disable them.
