So I got a new HDD HGST Travelstar 7K1000 2.5-Inch 1TB 7200 RPM SATA III 32MB Cache Internal Hard Drive 0J22423
I replaced my old drive that was failing and had bad sectors, slow freezing etc.
Installed windows 7 with the HP System Recovery DVD Windows 7 Recovery Media for Windows 7.
Went through the entire process of downloading all the Microsoft Windows updates, as well as the HP assistant updates that were specific for my laptop, via their onboard hp assistant.
Also updated graphics card from the AMD website.
Now the system should be all up to date. But it just feels slow, sluggish. Typing in the browser bar I can get a few words typed before it ever shows any characters. Scrolling up and down web pages, you can see it glitchy. I remember it being very fluid before.
I play World of Warcraft and my frame rate is horrible, use to be about 50-60 now its around 10-20.
WIth that graphics update I was getting screen flickering but I discovered that was caused by Raptr which was apart of the download. I disabled that so now the screen doesn't flicker anymore.
My Microsoft rating is 4.5
Processor 6.2
Ram 7.3
Graphics 4.5
Graphics Gaming 6.1
HDD 5.9
I ran a benchmark test using Sandra Lite. I couldn't really understand its results but I can run that again, or if it saved the results somewhere I don't know.
Ran the Microsoft troubleshooter for the startup programs list, really there aren't much but I disabled a few.
I made a complete image of my HDD after I downloaded all the updates.
Could really use some help. If you need anything specific, just let me know I am happy to provide, I want my computer to be at optimal performance.
Also I run in 1600x 900
