Windows 8 Computer Bricked! No bios splash screen.

Hey, I got a virus on my computer and instead of booting into the windows 8, it just says "Please wait.." forever and starts its virus spreading routine (hard-drive activity on all my other computers on boot, i have since formatted those and changed my access points pass.) Any help?
It is also worth noting that I have to use a HDMI to VGA adapter to see my screen, as my screen on the laptop is cracked. Please, anything, google has yet to help me. All I've been told to do is hold shift while rebooting, but I can't press the reboot button as I can't even get to the login screen.

What was your activity prior to this happening? Can you list anything unusual as well as any programs etc... you installed within the last month. It sounds to me more like an issue with your local account and syncing. At this point from the information you provided it doesn't seem like an infection.
