"Windows Services" license expired scam - Telephone call

Just received a telephone voice mail message that got past my "Nomorobo" protection.

Voice message call from "Windows Services" claiming that my license key for Microsoft Windows has expired.

And that Microsoft Windows has been stopped on my computer. [Not True.]

Female voice claimed it was an emergency and that I should call 1-855-601-0009

Obvious scam. However it is a different approach from the previous attempts by "Windows Services". Previous attempts claimed there was a problem with my system. And they "proved" that by pointing out common errors in the Event Viewer logs.

Posting this with the intent that anyone else asking about the call will find this post and thus learn that the call is a scam.

Do Not call back.

The only thing you need to know is, Microsoft don't call you.

Fully agree on both counts.

Interesting and posted for two reasons:

1) First time here and 2) Got past/through Nomorobo.

So that that scam approach may likewise be new to others as well.
