Wire snaps backlight gone, is it replaceable?

I have a hp g60 or one near enough identical, the hinge broke and a wire snapped taking the backlight with it i'm not sure what this does as after taking off the screen (which is still good?) i saw this wire goes off to the left top corner. what does this wire do and can i replace it? Sorry i can't explain better
