wow, no one commented on the fact that this was rather easily solved, but the police weren't able to do it. Even the chick had to find out where Holliman worked for the police to go pick her up.
Probably the same cops that were playing Wii during the drug raid.

No, Kavik, that would be sarcasm. I guess the kids who learned the meaning of irony from Alanis Morissette's lyrics have come of age.

The footage from the club was low quality and the glass with fingerprints had already been swept up and tossed.

You can't really fault the cops on this one. Fault this girl's friends for just going along with it and charge them as accomplices.

Also, 120 hours of community service isn't getting off too easy (granted it's nowhere near the 1 year sentence on Mr. DDoS, who was actually doing the public a favor).

The internet is a tool, similar to your brain, which you have failed to utilize today.

If only Alanis Morissette was smart enough to use that in her lyrics, eh?

[citation][nom]08nwsula[/nom]it was an "unprovoked" attack? Yea right. If someone you don't know blindsides you with a glass to the face, you're not going to be able to recognize them from facebook pictures.[/citation]

she said the attacker was starring her down all night and she also recognized the attacker's friend, then tracked the friend until she saw the attacker in facebook. did you even read past the headline?

[citation][nom]kavic[/nom]To tester24 wrong use for the word Irony, Irony is used when someone wants to convey something totally opposite of that they really would like to say. For example someone not wanting to work on the weekend and having to work on the weekend would be Ironic.[/citation]

ENGLISH, MOTHERF*%$#R DO YOU SPEAK IT? Obviously not.

Social networks are stupid now. I remember reading about how angry people were when they couldn't obsessive-compulsively check their facebook accounts every 5 mins when the site when down...lmfao.

I will admit, it was ok for when I was a freshman in college and it was "light"; not overloaded with ads, bloatware-apps, and spy-news that displays every fucking move I make...no thanks.

[citation][nom]touchdowntexas13[/nom]So do you have a better word to describe it? ... I am PRETTY SURE everyone else understood what the dude was conveying.[/citation]

The word for which you are looking is "coincidence". "Your illiteracy is so damn sexy, and I'll bet you're wearing some of that awesome Axe, too!" is irony.

Except at McDonalds, language skills will play a large role in the determination of your place in society. And imagine all the jokes you won't get!

Sorry maybe poetic would be funnier?

I dunno poetic justice wouldnt fit either because it's not like she deserved it... but it does sound funnier eh i give up I was never good at comming up with this stuff anyways.

[citation][nom]Platypus[/nom]Actually, Jim, sarcasm is a harsher form of irony.[/citation]
actually, you're a dumb piece of shit
that's not what irony means at all

When I first heard Chris Rock say women hate women I thought it was just a joke...holy hell have I witnessed otherwise in the past 2 years after having my mind opened, and this ridiculous story is just the tip of the iceberg for the incessant jealousy women have towards other women for NO logical reason what so ever.

Kudos to her for getting her revenge, I would have probably just returned the favor 10 fold instead of get the law, but thats cause im old fashioned

Ok, so I'm not even going to bother reading through all of the seemingly pointless commentary on this article precisely because it is NOT tech-related. The only thing tech-related in this article is facebook. Come on, Tom's! You can do better than this!

On a more relevant note, props to the woman for tracking down the perpetrator on facebook.

[citation][nom]james_lankford[/nom]actually, you're a dumb piece of shitthat's not what irony means at all[/citation]lol! Look. it. up.

Oh wow.. this is soooo interesting.. let's all go have an orgy because some nerdy bitch tracked down some slut who fucked her boyfriend, through facebook..

It's funny how people ACTUALLY care about this kind of stuff...

[citation][nom]james_lankford[/nom]its not ironic you dumb shitget over it[/citation]

Sarcasm is a form of ironic speech. Albeit a very low form of irony; it is, as I see it, the only form of irony that laypeople use correctly. Coincidence does not necessarily equal irony, though, it often plays a part, which I believe is what throws people off.

Bender sums up literary irony best - "The use of words expressing something other than their literal intention. Now that IS irony!"

Alanis does a horrible job of explaining irony.

Hahaha. See, your post is an actual example of irony. You're correcting someone's use of the word irony while getting it wrong yourself. That is ironic. What you are describing is sarcasm.

Tmike: same goes for you. You are correct in saying that "coincidence" is the word tester24 is looking for, but you too have no idea what irony means (your sample sentence is also an example of sarcasm). A second ironic post! awesome.

[citation][nom]precariousgray[/nom]I thought you had to friend someone to view any information. [/citation]
By default, friends and anyone on the same network as you can see all your info. If you are in some university network, everyone at that university can see your stuff. If you are in the "London" network, everyone else in the London network can see your stuff.

It's a pretty huge privacy hole that next to nobody seems to know about and which facebook seems to be in no hurry to tell anyone about.
