X99 Mobo can't boot SSD

W7 64 bit
840 evo SSD 1000gb
2 x GTX 980
5960 intel
32gb Corsair Vengance

If I reboot my machine a thousand times it will not boot Windows

I get black screens, hanging at "starting Windows Screen"
Flashing cursor _ with black screen
The only way I can get into the PC is system restore, then if I restart it I am back to square one.
After a lot of research I think it is something to do with AHCI & SSD's.

I really really do not want to reformat, any help would be appreciated

The most frustrating part is that it is sporadic,
I will not even boot into BIOS, just keep rebooting and sometimes it goes further than other times
Sometimes it will make it to "repair" yet on the next reboot without changing anything at all, it won't

OK, this isn't sporadic, If I boot from power off, I get a flashing cursor "_" (IE no operating system detected) but if I restart, it freezes on "Starting Windows" anyone point me in the right direction please?
