I think my 360 sucks. It's been in for repair once, it locks up occasionally, it's loud and it doesn't have hdmi. At least it plays *most* games well, and has a comfortable controller.

I tried to use a guy's PS3 this weekend while I was house-sitting. I tried to play 2 demos and resistance 2. One of the demos and resistance 2 didn't work at all. They'd stick at the first screen and not allow me to continue. It's also quite loud. The menus were just as frustratingly silly as xbox's NXE, but in my opinion superior. I enjoyed the video previews when looking through your library. The controller hurts my hands. I watched a couple of movies with it though and it's quite adept at that task. Blue ray's are pretty incredible.

So from my experience, xbox is for games, ps3 is for media.

[citation][nom]trainreks[/nom]I think PS3 has better exclusives than the X360, and dont forget about the RROD. [/citation]

LOL your joking right. PS3 with better exclusives? Keep smoking your crack pipe. I can count on one hand the number of exclusives on PS3 that are actually worth a damn but Id have to get out a notepad to list all of them on xb360. Theres good reason that Final Fantasy is coming to the 360 and not exclusive to the PS for the first time ever.

I smell a fanboy.

I bought a PS3 because I thought Gears was nothing special, Halo 3, was hella overrated and had the worst single player campaign, and oh I really can't think of any thing else that really intrigues me on the 360. I don't like RPGs so that throws Fable II out the door. And I played it with a friend and I didn't think it was even that good.

Given the fact that the PS3 has been out 1 year less than the 360, this year will delivery plenty of quality exclusives to the already good line up. Killzone 2, Resistance 1 & 2, Ratchet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid, Little Big Planet to name a few. And with Infamous, God of War III, rumor of another Ratchet and Clank, and a new Drake's game on the horizon, I'm rather glad I dropped the money on a PS3 than a 360. Plus free online and not having the fear of your console pooping itself.

I don't see what's so better about Live than PS3 Network. To me it just sucks. Fact is I got an xBox360 and don't play online cause I goddamn have to pay for it, what the hell? I mean, it's all an urban legend coming from the PS2 Network time. xBox Live is 'easier to use and more intuitive', I mean come on, it takes a retarded 6 years old to be taken by the hand like that to online play. To me it's so dumbed down that it sucks. PS3 Network looked more to me like an Online PC experience, which is good in my book. The only thing I prefer from xBox is it's controller shape and button positionning, but then again the analog quality of the xBox controller is inferior to the PS one. Like an other guy pointed out, Gears is cool but nothing special... But Resistance 1 or 2 is'nt either for me. Killzone 2 is the shit, and Metal Gear 4 too, even though it's not my type of game. Little Big Planet is gay and overated to me, so it's the equivalent to Halo 3 lol. Fable 2 is a great exclusive if your into RPG, I am. But even if I am I would prefer having a PS3 for Killzone 2 all the way right now. But yeah, PS3 is expensive....still...PS3 > xBox360 Elite all the way. I had to go for the 299$CA of the xBox360 Pro unfortunatly, and even that was still too expensive for me.

To people who can't read demonhorde665's posts, I think he has dyslexia. Of course I could be wrong and he is just horrible at typing (possibly not first language). I've had a few friend's with it, so it is easy for me to read it, but don't yell at the guy if you don't know.

Personally, I think MS should do away with all the Shennanigans and just sell all xboxes as a basic unit.... offer them up in all kinds of colors and let the customers decide on their hard drives and controllers and such. They're already making a killing on overpriced peripherals as it is. If they're going to offer up a "Special Edition" version based on a game, they should modify the case or something. Give me a reason to spend that extra money on that special edition, no?

But it's still all about personal preference. This whole discussion of xbox vs. ps3 is off topic to begin with. But hey...Fanboys will be Fanboys...

I am not joking. Please name some X360 exclusives ( that wont come to the PC ). Sure FF XII is coming to X360, but I am pretty sure it will suck. Look at Last Remnant, a great game filled with technical glitches and bugs. Anyways, all of the ps3 exclusives have stayed just that, an exclusive for the ps3.

Yeah, I know. But it is'nt THAT of topic if you consider the fact that the xBox360 Elite failure is probably in part due to the PS3 since the price tag are the same. And imo the PS3 offers more for the same price.

A game being exclusive for the only purpose of it being exclusive is not a good point, it's a bad to me. Not everyone can affort to buy all gaming platforms there is. An exclusive is good when the game is so good cause it is fully designed and optimised for that said platform. Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 are good exemples of this. Crysis for PC is another, even though the game did'nt turn out so well in expectations and sells. But Warhead is a great improvement. For some reasons games like Gears of War, Resistance and Fable 2 are'nt really exclusives to me, probably because they are not as spectacular technically speaking (plus the fact some have been or will be ported to PC). It's been said that all the past rumors about the PS3 being more powerful than the xBox360 are false, but seeing Killzone 2, the PS3 sure looks more technically proeficient than the xBox360. That or the programming job done with the harder code they are using is just better. That being said, Killzone 2 on PC would be a dream, but there is no chance that will happen anytime soon.

I bought a 360 arcade (jasper) to replace my broken elite (zephyr) and I couldn't be happier. Much quieter overall and hopefully much more reliable. Good riddance to the elite although I miss the black color scheme.

[citation][nom]captaincharisma[/nom]heck it would be even better if they just phased out the xbox 360 altogether LOL[/citation]
Just about the only way the Sony PS3 can reach #2 in overall consle sales behind the Wii. ;)

that is why all you need is a PS3 and a PC. haha.

all kidding aside, I did mention in my first post that I was considering the new RE5 Elite because it was a confirmed jasper. Hunting for a Pro jasper doesnt sound lie much fun. The major reason why I havent purchased an X360 is because of the appauling failure rate.
But I haven been reading that even the jaspers are failing, just not as much.

Unfortunatly what I got is a PC and an xBox360. I found cool being able to use my xBox360 controllers, which I love, with the PC too with a wireless adapter. I know Ps3 controllers are USB but I don't think it is working on the PC. Anyway, I bought the xBox360 recently, and I checked out, I got a BenQ reader...is that a Jasper? I don't know about this codename thingy. Talking about dvd-readers...one good thing you can do with the xBox360 you can't with the Ps3 as far as I know is flash it to run copied games :p. But I'm not doing it, well for now...:p

Jasper is the codname for the X360 with the 65nm die shrink. Supposedly produces less heat which hopefully correlates to fewer failures. I think the Jaspers use a Lite-On drive, but dont quote me on that.
