Xbox Audio Echo Issue

Please make a note: My system has been hooked up the same way for AGES. Nothing has changed with my system setup.

All of a sudden, quite literally out of nowhere, my Xbox is producing an echo. I have it setup though my 5.1 surround sound system (Samsung HT-C6600). The home theater is not the issue. When the Xbox is off and I'm watching a movie, no echo. It's only when I'm using the xbox.

Its absolutely maddening. I've tried unplugging everything, changing cords, resetting all components, changing ports, double checking to see if the TV audio is off and all I hear is ECHOOOO, ECHOOOO, ECHOOOOO. Can someone please give me a solution to this?? Thanks!

Faulty speakers? Tv? I know you mentioned that it isnt the theater, but it could be, have you checked?

I can't seem to login. Anyways, I've connected the Xbox to other tvs without a sound system and it's still echo-y. I just sounds like I'm in a tin can. I've only seen 2 other issues like this online, and none of them have been solved/is a solution for me....

Maybe its a faulty hdmi cord or hdmi port on the xbox? You should also try resetting audio settings on the xbox

Fixed on mine by changing the HDMI audio in Audio output in Display & sound in Settings on the Xbox.
