So I recently bought a Xonar DSX since my new mobo didn't have the optical out I needed for my Astro Mixamp 5.8.
I am having some issues though mainly that my goal is to make use of the DTS feature but it doesn't seem to work and only outputs in stereo.

As far as I know DTS only works via the S/PDIF out which I am currently using (Toslink adapter into the jack on the back with the other end plugged into the Astro Mixamp Base).
I am able to hear sound, windows shows it as being the S/PDIF Passthrough that the audio is coming from. http://puu.sh/dyjOA.png

http://puu.sh/dyjQg.png the issue is here, I have these settings selected but when I click the test button I don't hear anything from ANY of the speakers even though the monitor above is showing sound being output just fine.

My question is, is there a way I can make this work?
I do have the option to use the Mixamp's Dolby Headphone output for the virtual surround.
The Mixamp only decodes Dolby Pro Logic II is this the reason I am getting no audio?

I am using PC360s as my headphones and I am able to use Analogue if required so long as I get the best sound possible I'm not fussed how it needs to be set up.

EDIT: As a secondary query would Dolby Headphone be considered better for gaming over DTS anyway? I just want to make sure I am getting the most out of the soundcard although I did pretty much only buy it because I got it at a considerable discount and I figured having a sounfcard would be better than not having one + I needed the Optical Out anyway.
