Hello,

I recently purchased(2 weeks ago) an XPS 15 9570 i7-8750H 1080p laptop and it has been nearly perfectly except one thing. While charging, and you put your ear near the laptop, it makes a clicking(or tick-tock) sound that occurs at a constant rhythm around 85% of the time when you plug it in. It seems to go away after about 10 minutes of charging(when CPU is at idle)but comes back once in awhile or if I open hardware monitor. I also get a bit of sound that sounds like a hard drive reading/writing sound but theres only a m.2 ssd in there. I'm just wondering if there's anything to be concerned about or if I should contact dell about it. I tried getting an audio recording of it, but none of my microphones can pick it up.

Thanks

Solution
If you are concerned about it, return the laptop and have them give you a different one. You just got it, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Should they, for some odd reason, not wish to, then contact the manufacturer about the issue.
