Y50 FPS problems

Hey guys, so got my Y50 a couple of days ago and it's been amazing to me FPS wise. I tested it with Metro Last Light and I was getting over 60 FPS with some good settings. Point is, I come home to my laptop today and load up last light. The game froze for maybe half a second at start up and then completely lagged in game.. talking below 10 FPS.. ie: Not playable LOL. I didn't do anything to my computer( As far as I know), can someone help me with this?

I would highly recommend you recording the temperature as what Cons29 said.

Then my questions may sound silly but do you play with a laptop cooler?
