Yamaha Receiver Question

Hi. I have a yamaha RX-V379. I have a Sony blue ray connected to HDMI 1 input. Whenever I power on the receiver, the DVD turns on and the receiver activates HDMI 1 and the DVD menu is on my TV.

How do stop the DVD from turning on, and the receiver activating this input every time the receiver is powered on? Thank you for your help.

You can try turning off CEC. Check the DVD, receiver, and TV menus. You might have to turn it off in more than one component.

Thank you. Is CEC the same as HDMI control? I have turned off "HDMI control" via the receiver menu, but doesnt seem to make any changes.
