Yamaha Rx 375 av receiver

I have my yamaha av Rx 375 receiver connected to my television using hdmi cables. I am experiencing problems hearing the television when I turn it on. I have to press the volume knob on the Yamaha remote continuously until I hear sound. Is there a mode that I am need to change to?

If this happens on the TV input only then you can use the volume trim control in the options menu. If it happens on all sources then you can adjust the initial turn on volume in the setup sound menu. It is in the owners manual:
