Yamaha to Sony

I have the arc on both systems along with a 4k HDMI cable. I cannot get any sound to come thru. I can control the Yamaha receiver thru the Sony Bravia TV so I know its syncing.

How do I get my speakers to kick on?
I'm using a fire stick watching Hulu thru HDMI 2. My TV arc system is HDMI 3.

Make sure that the receiver will produce sound with another source like the built in FM tuner. You will need to have an FM antenna connected.
You say you turned on ARC in the TV. You may need to assign ARC to an input on the receiver too.
Do you get sound through ARC with a different source on the TV like the over the air tuner?
