No, what I mean is what are you using on the phone for the downloading? What app?

gmail for mail and google chrome for everything else

So they are attachments to mail and then through the browser. OK. But you can access your mail and sites on the browser correct?

If that is the case, the files may be to big, they are type you can't access on the device, or you are trying to download them to a location that isn't on the device or the SD card.

I would start with these.
