I know has probably been asked many times, but just like some input before I pulled my trigger. I am selling my current Bose Companion 3 and thinking about a 5.1 upgrade. As I read through the forum I saw the Monoprice 10565 came up a lot and it make sense. However, I am getting a deal for Z906 at $230.
1. So the question is the Monoprice 10565 still worth the extra 200-250 over the z906? The Monoprice 10565 is selling around 230, but then I have to get a receiver which I believe is around or above 200. I do listen to music sometimes, but this mainly will be for gaming (most FPS, or third person).
2. If the above answer is to go the Monoprice 10565, my current pc onboard sound card broke so I am using the SB Audigy FX PCI express card, which has no optical port. Assuming if I do get the Monoprice 10565 then I can only connect through my GPU (RTX 2080). However, since I only have 1 HDMI port (set as the primary display for high refresh rate), can I use a DP to HDMI adaptor on the DP to send audio to the receiver?

Thanks a lot
