I do not have a SIM card in my ZTE anymore and factory reset it. But during startup it will not go past the checking info i keep getting Google can't not be reached and taken back to choose a wifi network. Anyone have any idea what to do to just get a home screen

Select a WiFi network to connect to then. You can do that without a SIM card for it to load the phone.
