Icons

I can unlock my icons on desktop but then they go back to auto arrange. I want to turn that off permanently and lock my groupings into place. How do I do that.

I am using Xp on my laptop and trying to use another tv as a monitor. I see my laptop picture but no icons.Programs opened on laptop are not visible on the monitor. How can I view all laptop contents on external monitor? Thanks
