Strange icons appearing in Word after download.

Hi,

When i download PDF/Word documents from sites I get really strange signs onto it (shown below)

Is there anyway to fix this? it's really annoying. I use Wordpad/Word 07/Adobe reader. I use Window 7 64 bit.

Do you have anti-virus software and is it up to date ? Your links are broken ? Are your Windows updates current and is Adobe also up to date ?

All of the things you listed are up to date, even turned my AV off for a bit to check but it is still showing the weblayout ( to the right side it says End of the page or End of the Collum.
Also its not just 1 link its every pdf file or word document I try to download and open. The text im looking for (the actual document) is always somewhere found into the middle of the document (and those docs are around 500-1000 pages each)
