Shortcut icons change when moved

I have made a PowerPoint using PP2003 and used the Package for CD utility to make a folder that I can distribute. I wanted to make a shortcut directly to the PowerPoint Show and give it a custom icon that I made. But, whenever I move the folder to some other computer, the icon changes to the default shortcut image. I do have the icon image in the folder, and the shortcut icon is linked to that file, so what isn't working?

Just out of curiosity, is it an absolute or relative link? If it is an absolute link then that could be the problem. If you post the link as you have it I may be able to help.

If the default type is absolute, then that is likely it. I don't know if I can get the file to you or not.

You don't need to send a file, I was just curious as to whether the link was absolute or relative. I agree that the default type is absolute then that is probably the problem.

Yes, I would try creating a relative link and then test it.
