So here's the thing, I have a 27" Pilot HDTV that can go up to 1080i. I have a PS3 and next week a PS4. I've done some research and what I got from it is that 720p is better for games BUT if your TV can go up to 1080i AUTOMATICALLY (and when I choose Automatic on PS3 display settings it chooses 1080i) then 1080i is better ONLY for games that support this setting (so games like The Last of Us which can only go up to 720p are better played on 720p and games like Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix which can be played on 720p, 1080i and 1080p are worth playing on 1080i if you don't have 1080p).

Now, I'm not going to get a 1080p TV soon and I am sitting pretty close to the TV so I don't really think that matters unless I buy a 38"+ TV.

My question is, is the info true? Should I use 1080i on games that support it? Also, on PS4, 1080i is better than 720p if my TV and games support it?

I'm playing KH1.5 on 1080i right now and it looks better than 720p. So yeah, I am really lost.

Thank you! :)

Technically 720P is better because it is progressive scan and not interlaced. 720P should give a sharper image because it shows a whole picture every second while 1080i only shows half of the picture at any given moment.
