13" screen...but a different size 13" screen

I'm replacing a Macbook Air with a Dell XPS 13. Both have 13" screens. As I have them side-by-side I realize the Mac measures 7"x11" while the Dell is 6.5"x11.5". (Yes, they are both 13" diagonal, I know.)

The point is, I realize I prefer the taller screen of the Mac. More often I'm scrolling up or down a screen than wishing it were a little wider.

It's just an observation -- I did not know that a 13" (or whatever it might be) screen could have different horizontal and vertical dimensions from one computer to the next.

Apple still uses 16:10 as the standard ratio for Macbooks, as far as I know. Other manufacturers opt for cheaper 16:9 screens.

If you like the form factor and design of the Mac. You can always just install Windows.

That seems like a nightmare of confusion and crashes. First of all, you'd have to tell the system to boot using Windows and not Mac OS...right there I'm done. Too much trouble and opportunity for trouble.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I didn't know that was possible.
