Im looking for a notebook to take along with me to college. 15.6'' seems too big so im leaning towards 14''. Does anyone have recommendations in the $500 price range?
I already have a gaming desktop.

Hi there,

You should check out the Toshiba Satellite L640. It has a 14" screen, 4 GB of RAM, and 500 GB of storage. It even has a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 video card and is a great value at $599. If that is too expensive, there is another Toshiba with a 15.6" screen that is $519.

What do you think?

Hi there,

The Lenovo looks like a really great choice because it has a more powerful processor. The HP can be upgraded to the same i5 processor but that will increase the price. The Lenovo has some cool bonus features as well. It looks like a nice value!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks
The lenovo is an i3
I just dont seem to like the design and mouse/keyboard on the hp, however it comes with a 7200 rpm hard drive if you order online.
I am going to use this for college, it is not a desktop replacemen

How about this one
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/497949/MSI-A6200-206US-156-LED-Backlit/
The main difference seems to be the msi is 15.6'' as opposed to the thinkpad is 14''
Would $88 justify it?

Hi there,

The biggest difference seems to be the screen size, so if you are leaning towards a 14" laptop, it might not be worth paying the extra $88 for a larger one. The rest of the specs don't seem to be any better.

The Dell is a good buy because it comes with the 7200 rpm as opposed to the thinkpad with the 5400 rpm for only $20 more. And it also comes with a core i3 370 vs 350 on the lenovo.
But the shipping sucks
Now im starting to lean on the 15.6'' msi core i3-350 for $499.99
ugh

Thank you
I had searched it on the dell web site, if only I could go pick it up at nearby tech store. I am moving out on the 19th
Why does there have to be so many choices I am so bad at deciding
