I recently bought a ASUS ROG Strix ZX553VD (UK, TN panel version of the ASUS GL553VD as far as i understand). Today i tried to connect it to my 144Hz ASUS vq248qe, but quickly found out that the monitors HDMI version doesn't support 1080p@144Hz, and that is the only output that i have on my laptop.
After some digging i found the DELOCK hdmi to displayport converter . Would this enable me to get 1080p@120Hz or 144Hz through the monitors displayport, or is there anything else that might lock it below that?

I'd really appreciate any input on this idea, or possible other solutions anyone might have, after 2 years of 144fps going back to 60fps is not nice, especially with how much more micro stuttering and tearing i get from the laptop.

"ASUS ROG Strix ZX553VD (UK, TN panel version of the ASUS GL553VD as far as i understand)"

Why would i only get 60 exactly? What would the limiting factor be, since the converter is supposed to be able to handle 1080@120Hz and the 2 GPU's support HDMI 1.4 on intels side and 2.0 on Nvidias side which are both capable of the same or better performance.

HDMI can only support 1080p 60hz thus limited to lowest hz

Why would it only support 60Hz, if the HDMI versions of the GPU's both support 1080p at 144Hz?
Sorry, it's just that it doesn't make sense to me.

The only video port on the laptop is a single HDMI port, that, as far as i'm aware, is HDMI 1.4
