2 Wire Sub-woofer to RCA jack input

I have been looking for an answer to this question. I know there are some questions on this but I haven't gotten a good answer.

I recently purchased this Reciever http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...10551&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665788590. I have a subwoofer that has the 2 wires that are suppose to hook in to the receiver. Can I just buy an adapter at Radio Shack and I'll be good?

I am new to the home theater community. I am good with electronics just not audio.

OK I bought an adapter at Radio Shack. It doesn't seems to work. Any ideas as what I can do to get my Subwoofer to work on this receiver?
