Hey guys,
I recently purchased a used 256gb m.2 ssd on ebay.
I have about 10 units that are Dell Latitude 13 7350, all came with m.2 ssds removed.
I ordered a variety of m.2's on ebay, all worked so far until this ssd i am discussing here.
The exact SSD discussed here is a Transcend TS256GMTS800.

BIOS does not see the drive (Bios updated to latest A10).
I messaged the ebayer and he said that i needed to format the drive. Obviously this isnt some simple 2.5" or 3.5" SATA HDD i can connect to a USB adapter etc. I read around online a bit and people recommended running command prompt out of windows installation (Shift+F10) and then running disk partition. I tried that as well, and the only thing that shows up after i type "List Disk" is one drive at 0gb and another at 14gb.

Do you guys have any ideas of what i can do to get the drive working so i dont have to return it? or do you think it's just a toast drive?

Thanks

it's probably a bad drive. I would try to connect the SSD to another working pc with a data cable, see if you can format it on another computer through disk management.
or at the very least attempt to run crystal disk

Yes i did order one of those yesterday just because i figured maybe i'd need one again. Was hoping someone would link me to some free software that would have a good interface for checking the drice
