I'm surprised that nobody said that with the new iPhone 4s you're still holding wrong!

I'll never buy anything Apple, ever. It's junk wrapped up in a slick package.

You do understand that UMTS/HSPA is based off of CDMA(W-CDMA, but still), right?

In US, you have to pay min 199 per month to get the 4s.
In Hong Kong, you pay 2xx ( about 30USD ) per month and you get unlimited data plan. The best part is you can buy the phone and purchase a plan separately. That means a lot more freedom!

Ok, you clearly have no idea what your are talking about. I pay with AT&T a $89.99 for unlimited minutes and $35.00 for my data plan. 125.00 per month. This is the IPhone plan with AT&T. Verizons data plan is 5 bucks more. Get your facts straight.

I don't care. It's not GSM, and most of the world uses GSM. That's ALL I NEED TO KNOW.

LMAO, 4S just outsold many current droid phones in it's first day :)

Oh look I see another rant about how it's screen isn't blah blah and the processor isn't blah blah blah and the camera isn't blah blah... but hey, it still is a great phone to use and doesn't require you to root it to install android released a year ago and guess what people are voting with their $$ :)

You boys rant like someone punched your mum and stole her groceries... Wow :)

why not buy a samsung galaxy s2, find a broken iphone and take the aluminium cover and a hammer, shape the iphone cover so it will fit the samsung galaxy s2 phone. Modify the looks of android to look like iOS, then you have a cheap "iphone" with the holy apple on the back

Actually, what you need to know, is that LTE is the new unified standard that ALL carriers (worldwide) are eventually going to. So...

LOL are you trying to convince me that there's more freedom in China than in the US? HAHAHA keep trolling commie!

I just think Apple is running out of ideas for the iPhone. The major touted feature in iOS5 is voice control. Voice Control! I couldn't believe they'll make something that mundane and useless as the major feature.

[citation][nom]amk-aka-phantom[/nom]Bull. $h!t. World Phone means it's compatible with GSM. Nobody uses stupid CDMA outside of US.[/citation]
Well considering there are about 576 million CDMA subscribers in the world I would say more then just the US uses CDMA, so umm you are wrong :)

STOP!!!! calling the next IPhone, a Iphone 5. The Iphone 4s is the 5th version of the Iphone. Iphone historical time line:
Iphone, Iphone3g. Iphone 3gs, Iphone 4 and Iphone 4s. Apple marketing genius played a word trick and called it the Iphone 4 when the 4G network was just getting started. The next Iphone will not be Iphone 5 and should be called Iphone 6 or Iphone LTE.

Wow, I didn't realize how sensitive some people are about smart phones and what is said about them, lol. The iPhone for is a new release - what is wrong with the fella writing two articles contrasting the reasons why you should or shouldn't upgrade...?

Actually Verizon is $59.99 + $29.99 + Taxes so it ends up being $100ish (assuming you want unlimited txt and 450 mins). Still a fuckign rip off that these companies gotta drain you of every penny. $59.99 for 450 mins and unlimited txt is fucking bullshit. At best unlimited txt should cost $10. Fucking bullshit. People should start fighting back and make it so that you pay for what you use not this stupid crap. FUCK THE CORPORATIONS

Someday I'll have a cell phone with stand alone GPS that can display my custome made maps, all my contacts updated by my PC, a decent camera and view it all on a nice big touch screen. But I DON"T want data on my fricken' phone! (unless my work required it) The damn phone interrupts my out-and-aboiut time too much already. Emails can wait till I get home. Text messages? I had those turned those off. If it's really so damn important CALL ME!

I love my notebook--too much. I get away from it by leaving the house. I won't cut off that escape route with data on my phone.

I respect Steve Jobs' attention to product details. I appreciate Apple products but if I ever owned one (god forbid) I'd keep it a secret.

Am I the only one that read reason #2 to say "14.4 kbps" rather than "14.4 Mbps" the first time?

Also, for all the ranting about "smart" phones, I've not seen a single "dumb" phone sold new in the USA in YEARS. Even the crappy $5US throw-away TracFones (the kind that terrorists probably buy to detonate IEDs) supports GPS, a phone, apps, and a web browser with full 3G support.

I mean, SURE, the camera's a laughable 640x480, and the processor and RAM are probably weak enough that browsing would be slow as molasses, and there's probably a shortage of apps you can download... But then again, smartphones of a few years ago didn't have those features, or even ones the new crappy phones have, at all! For instance, I distinctly recall the first iPhone being pre-3G and not having any real app support for the first year or so of its life... But it's always been considered a "smart" phone.
