40" emerson lcd tv need help

my emerson flatscreen quit working after a lightning storm so i took it apart and checked the fuse and their is no continnuity through it so i figured the fuse blew, i closed the circut temporarily (shorted across the two fuse terminals) and tried to plug it in and it just arc's any thoughts?
I'm thinking fried power supply?

your better get her at a tv shop for a repair check and dont short the fuse connector and could end up with a fire in your house .

as much as i can understand your answer i really want to fix this myself and th e more i look at this i belive i need a new inverter board. So does anyone know where i can pick one up?
