I recently purchased a 5.1 speaker system.....4 side speakers, 1 middle, and a sub. However, I have noticed that suddenly on youtube or any website in general, only my 2 main side speakers and the sub actually play.
So I downloaded realtek audio and that seemed to work but then I noticed that the sound coming out of the speakers was garbled and distorted sounding. What am I doing wrong? I was going to fiddle with the connections again, but after I did a windows test it ran perfectly fine after set up for 5.1 surround.....BUT ONLY IN THE TEST.
Some guidance please?

If the source of the audio isn't 5.1 then it will play in 2.0 or 2.1 nos YouTube videos are only stereo so you only get stereo sound out of it. Same with browsers. If tou watch a 5.1 movie you will probably get surround

I had same problem just right click on properties of your browser icon (shortcut) ,and where its says target on the end after exe" press space and copy paste this --force-wave-audio instead
