54 inch vizio sound bar too loud

Have had 54 inch sound bar and worked perfectly with the sound showing 45. Changed the cable to HDMI. Now the sound is loud at 9 and too low at 8. Can i get it back to 45 on the HDMI cable?

Are you using the HDMI ARC channel? This may have a set output level from the TV which cannot be altered. Your other option is to connect the soundbar using the optical digital output on the TV as you should be able to alter the volume output from the TV and balance the level to better suit the volume steps of the soundbar.
Also if you are using a cable / sky box, you can alter the output volume from that independently too.
