6th Generation Components with 7th Generation CPU

I am concerned about the mismatch in the generation of my CPU and the other components that have generations. I purchased this machine about 3 months ago and it has never felt like a new machine at all. Have I been cheated and sold a defective piece or does this happen often ?

what is the exact model of the laptop? With the latest bios, driver, 6th gen chipset will work with 7th gen cpu

Model : Asus R558UQ-DM513D

My laptop is working, just not working as one would expect a new laptop to work. Sometimes it takes ages to switch from one window to another even when only 3-4 windows are open, none of which are doing any heavy duty processing. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version.

it only got 4gb ram and a 5300rpm hdd. it might be new, but still slow.
