7970M crossfire Vs 980m 8gb

I've looked online but can't find a good comparison, I currently have a 7970m crossfire setup in my laptop but it was damaged and now alienware wants to replace my laptop with their new 980m 8gb single card. Is this a fair trade? can i expect same fps, or more or less. I know the driver support will be much better but other than that no idea!

I would expect your performance will be even better, in most comparisons, with the single 980m. Sounds like a good exchange.
