Hey guys, first time posting here!

I've been having an issue with Chrome for a while now where some ransomware has been trying to take it over. Luckily I reacted with Malwarebytes and it seemed to stop it in its tracks.

However now there is a folder in my Program Files that MB is pointlessly quarantining and deleting as the folder is not going away. I cannot delete it without permissions of an alien PC and what it seems to be doing is hijacking Chrome folder and building it inside itself (Bangtony).

I'm new with this stuff so I'd appreciate any help before screwing things up myself!

Solution
Run a full scan with Malwarebytes and make sure "scan for rootkits" is enabled. You might have to uninstall Chrome. Maybe try using Firefox. Switch your DNS servers to OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

OpenDNS can "kill" the connection of the ransomware.
