ABP not working for Youtube app on android.

I installed abp and configured properly with right proxy name and port. It works fine with my android chrome browser and other apps, but when I go on youtube app the videos load painfully slow and it's just unwatchable because it's too slow. Ads are blocked on youtube, but eventually it just gives a connection issue saying it lost connection. Ive restared my phone, cleared youtube cache, and it still gives me this problem. Running android 4.1.2 Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Were you able to watch videos before installing ABP (whatever it is)?
You're mentioning "proxy", and if blocking of ads means your web traffic goes thru the proxy, then this could be the problem.
